Dear PricePro team,
Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Moneca Melnick, I am the CEO and company director for Melnick International Group, Inc. We are the only authorized retailer of Royale beauty products in Alberta, Canada.
I am writing this letter to the PricePro team to express my amazement with all the individuals working at PricePro. Personally, my company’s main goal is excellent customer service. Having said that, whenever making a trip to PricePro I am greeted by not only smiling team members but sincerity and passion for the work they are doing.
It’s one thing to greet a customer and ask them if they need help finding anything but its another to do it sincerely and truly help a customer in need. I am not one to ever write letters to any organization and I have had many years of experience with customer service. I find the difference with PricePro is that every individual wants to be there and has a purpose. They assist customers because they want to and not because they are told to do so. That is the difference. This is not only refreshing, but very rare and hard to find.
I’ve been in stores with “excellent” customer service, but this store is much different. The environment and individuals make this the perfect model for an all-round amazing shopping experience. The store will continue to get my personal recommendation and support.

The Brassard’s are a French-Canadian couple who shop at PricePro. They had this to say about it:
We make our own bacon at home and we have not been able to find the right cut of meat for it until we came to PricePro. We asked Curtis in the meat department and he said that yes, they carry the cut we need. When we saw the size of the piece of pork and the price of it, we were amazed. The pricing is great! We get good advice from Curtis and Kris in the meat department, too. We are going to do an Easter ham and they explained how to brine it, where to inject the marinade, etc. Whenever we ask for anything, it is never a problem. The pumpernickel in the bakery is the best I’ve ever had!

I am a price-driven shopper, and this is my first, go-to place to shop. I shop here most of the time because shopping at PricePro is absolutely less of a chore. Even if it wasn’t a non-profit, I would still be shopping here. Whatever you guys are doing in the way of customer service, keep it up!

I LOVE PRICE PRO !!! I can honestly say that I spend more money there than anywhere else I shop. The baked goods are cheap and good quality. They often have great door crashers outside. I think maybe they dop some liquidating for some other supermarkets. I bought a fresh cut veggie tray for 2.99 that costs 12.00 at Safeway. Those kind of deals are not unusual for that place. One of the few places that always has fresh brisket and shrt ribs out. I will probably go there today just to see what is up.
Ken has been shopping at PricePro since day 1. He says, “the sausage patties are the best I’ve ever had. The produce is great and the people are nice. I come in 3 times per week and buy fresh and I tell all my friends about PricePro”

A couple of weeks ago, one of our customers, Rocco, came in all the way from Langley to request 12 lamb racks for Easter. While speaking to Kris, our butcher (and the best butcher in Surrey, BC), Rocco mentioned the spices he uses in his lamb recipe and Kris was interested in trying them. Today, we found Rocco in our store looking for Kris with the spices he spoke of! I got to talking to Rocco and he told me that he had come in yesterday as well to give the spices to Kris but Kris had left for the day already, so he made the long trip again today, just to give our butcher some spices. This is the level of dedication our customers have, not only to our butcher, Kris, but our other experts such as Tony our produce manager and Gordie, our bakery manager. When I asked Rocco why he shops here, he told me, “I don’t like shopping in the big stores because they are not customer-oriented. When I shop, I like to talk to someone who has knowledge and who has a desire to inform me. I am from Europe, so this is the way I like to shop. PricePro is like a mini Costco to me, and I get treated very well. Otherwise, I wouldn’t come all the way from langley!”

My husband and I were at your neighbouring store (Value Village) today and noticed your warehouse. Curious, we decided to check it out. We were greeted by the friendliest gentleman who not only offered us a shopping cart, but explained to us the store’s purpose … and gave our 2-year-old son a free cookie! I was thoroughly impressed with the selection of products, the prices and the charitable cause.

Price Pro, located at 6911 King George Blvd, looks like most of your run of the mill big box warehouse stores but there’s a lot more going on here and it’s very unexpected and totally amazing. Price Pro is actually operated by Welcome Home, a registered Canadian charity. It is part of the Welcome Home program helping people to change their destructive lifestyles. They become productive and successful members of our society which creates a safer, better and more caring community.
PricePro’s main purpose is to support Welcome Home in its charitable work to help young men and women in their struggle to free themselves from drug and alcohol addiction. This store provides Welcome Home participants with the opportunity to acquire proper life skills, social skills, and job skills. They learn how to become valuable employees, or how to successfully manage their own business, so they can re-join society as productive, contributing citizens.

Yesterday, I had the pleasure of meeting Scott Graham of What’s For Lunch BC. I took him on a quick tour of the store and he was pretty impressed with our selection of meats and produce. Here is what he had to say:
Today I visited a place that put everything in perspective for me and made me so unbelievably proud to live in Surrey. That place is Price Pro. At first glance it looks like a typical big box retailer but it is so much more. It is a non profit organization that puts all of its profits into an addiction and rehabilitation program and provides the users of the program with the opportunity to have a job. The jobs are mostly in the butcher shop and bakery, teaching people real skills that make them employable.
